End the lockdowns and they'll be saved

DarkMemeDuck 50 points ago +65 / -15

Exactly. These lockdowns need to end. Why the hell he came out and said we have to keep everything shut until the end of April is beyond me. This shit needs to be over yesterday.

The Governor's are in open rebellion against the President. The only reason he shut things down was to stay ahead of the inevitable. This ending this year would be a miracle. These people are power hungry and they gain more every second this lasts

Starving people generally end lockdowns like the one we are in now .. and it is never pretty.

Open our country for business or tax laws won't mean jack shit.

Exposure of D.S.

He never said we have to keep everything shut down.

He just gave the governors rope to hang themselves and they gleefully did.

Don't blame Trump for the shutdowns.

Blame your governor.

Thank you thank you. None makes sense unless it is viewed correctly.

Unless something drastic changes, lockdowns are likely to continue until the summer. So-called social distancing will probably be here to stay on a long-term basis. Until our bodies have gotten used to this thing, and have developed a more effective defense against it. That could take years. The ramifications of what is happening now will still be unfolding long after Trump leaves office.

Rush mentioned a "study" yesterday about California. Over 40 million people, thousands of homeless and some areas with dense population centers yet they've only had around 140 deaths from CV related illnesses?? Some doctors and disease specialists speculate it may be due to CA having already been exposed to the virus and have thus developed a herd immunity. Either way, something isn't adding up out there and if herd immunity is a factor, it supports the argument that maybe the entire country might be better off letting the virus work its way through the healthy population and quarantine the "at-risk" popluation for a few months.

wonder if the heat in CA is helping too

That's what we should have been doing from the start. Bill Whittle talked about this when it was still just heating up.

I hope the medical information of people that died, especially those that succumbed suddenly, is being collected and analyzed.

I want to know if there is anything to race and ACE2 receptor density and some blood types being more resistant than others.

I'm afraid the data will be corrupted by "race is a social construct" wokeness and a desire to classify as many deaths as possible to the virus.

The reason for the wide-spread immunity theory is that CA has major shipping ports from Asia along with international airports that go directly to and from Asia. NY and the east coast doesn't get the flow of Asian travel and shipping like CA does. They just don't know yet. But what we do know is that 140 deaths out of 40 million with the virus first being introduced to the US well over 2.5 months ago, they should be seeing the same kind of medical crisis that NY is seeing but they're not.

There is a lot not adding up

5
rabdargab 5 points ago +5 / -0

no it wont. The only ramification that we will have to deal with is people going out of business or going broke.

Wow! You convinced me I'm wrong with your impeccable debate skills!

its a "better safe than sorry" and "cover your ass" method

if you end the lock down then tons die, ICU / ER full and not enough ventilators then it looks like a total disaster

if you play it safe and things go ok then you look like a hero

Haha you think once the lockdown ends bars and restaurants are gonna come back? People are our business, and at least half the country is froggtened of a cold. You think people are gonna go out and have someone prepare your food? Thats over. The margins are too tight. If 10 pct of those who used to eat out regularly stop, its all over. Have fun at taco bell you fucking fascists.

Chinese food? In America?? Done. Never again.

TD_Covfefe_Crusader 17 points ago +17 / -0

The lockdown itself is going to put millions of restaurants and bars out of business. Many will never reopen.

Could you please explain how JIT manufacturing is to blame? I'm not being antagonistic - I looked it up and am trying to understand. Is it about the masks and ventilators, or is it because these companies have a business model that can't handle economic crisis? Is so, why is that the case?

I like to think of it using the analogy of a highway. People in the past would leave plenty of space between them and the individual in front of them on the road, say 2 car lengths while traveling 35 mph. Technology improved, allowing us to move faster and faster, now we are all going 70 mph, 2 car lengths from each other. More dangerous than it use to be, but still some buffer space. Economists figured out they could fit 2 more cars on the road for ever car by putting them into that 2 car length space between each car. You can think of JIT as a way to fit more economic activity inside an area that in the past served as a safety zone (think large warehouse and having extra raw materials in case of an economic event or keeping cash on hand in a safe spot).

Well, the Coronavirus tree just fell on the road and everyone who was literal millimeters from each others bumpers just slammed into each other, creating a 330 million car pileup.

American made bat soup would be delicious.

I'll only trust bat soup if it's made by Wayne Enterprises. The CEO knows about bats.

Sadly I do not. My questions at this point in my life are merely rhetorical.

Haha you think once the lockdown ends bars and restaurants are gonna come back?

Did bars come back after Prohibition?

You think people are gonna go out and have someone prepare your food? Thats over.

Same as when restaurants went extinct after the Spanish Flu.

Chinese food? In America?? Done. Never again.

Chinese food was invented in America. You do know this?

5
WeinerLapTop 5 points ago +8 / -3

Prohibition does not equal pestilence.

Eating out wasnt common until the last 30 or 40 years.

Chinese food, in america, is dead and buried. Old news. Not unless it comes in fucking pizza boxes and is outwardly owned and operated by a fat ginger will i eat china food ever again. That shit always tastes the same because it all, comes from the same supplier.

Begone, China shill

The Chamber of Commerce in my small town just cancelled the largest event of the year, a festival that draws in most of the tourism and money that keeps businesses and the local economy afloat for the whole year. There are a lot of businesses that won't survive that decision.
