Biden Responds to Sexual Assault allegations
April 1, 2020 - Fredo Cuomo
Former Vice President Joe Biden addressed the sexual assault allegations against him during a podcast on Saturday, calling them "baloney" and repeating a controversial comment from former President Bill Clinton.
When asked about sexual assault and sexual harassment, Biden said that when he encountered one of the victims of Harvey Weinstein's alleged assault at a convention, the young woman refused to even kiss him.
"Because she felt it was inappropriate, that I had hit on her. I believed her. But I had to sit there and listen to her say 'no.' I won't say this on a political stage, but I know this soundbite doesn't fit into my whole narrative," he said.
"This whole no means no thing all of a sudden became racist baloney because, you know, there's a bunch of stuff you could say about me, but to characterize all of these women who've come forward as liars, it's absurd," he said.
Biden also said that Clinton "made a terrible mistake" when he said "with women, it's always about him."
"He had a big life," Biden said. "Just imagine if you were convicted in a court of law or wherever and it was all over the entire world and you said there was an imbalance of power when it wasn't, and in fact there was and that's all."
A day after President Trump settled a case out of court alleging sexual assault, Sen. Cory Booker, D-New Jersey, said Biden should face sexual assault allegations.
