The social distancing efforts are flattening the curve, but the harsh authoritarian crackdowns are not making a difference. If they were then the states who aren't so strict would be doing much worse than the ones who are, except when we look at the data we see that they're all on exactly the same trajectory (with the exception of the greater NY metropolitan area). To be honest, with the affinity it has for our economic nerve center it feels like another 9/11 to me.
