One thing that people are missing: every body is different. Measure blood glucose levels after a variety of people eat high-glycemic foods. Guess what? People have wildly different reactions. So what does "proven" even mean? We have 50 years of prophylactic use as an anti-malarial that shows it's not dangerous to humans. We have a lot of evidence that shows it is beneficial as a treatment for CV. Those touting "muh unknown unproven risks.." are trying to profit off this somehow, that's what's going on.
The Democrats benefit more, or think they do, the more people die. They can try to blame those deaths on Trump (although it will probably not take). They also benefit if the economy collapses. Compared to a well functioning free trade economy, or even a just okay functioning one, socialism looks a whole lot better when there's 30%-40% unemployment. Note also that it's mostly Democrat governors who are going mad with power and trying to stop this treatment. It is not about money. It's about prolonging the crisis and taking power.
