The IRS needs to be disbanded along with the Federal Reserve. Income tax is unconstitutional anyways and it was only supposed to be temporary after the war. BUt you know... Dems take advantage of everything

In the future, you'll have to file a plan for approval for any movement in the State of Northam-ginia.

I've no issue with people in need getting our money. But we need to get the money to people that truly need it. People that aren't getting paid already specifically.

Wait, seriously? Are federal employees getting a stimulus check even tho they’re still getting paid regularly?? 🤬

I often wonder why I have to pay income tax again on income that I've already paid on.

I wonder why College kids have SNAP parties at the end of each month so they zero out their monthly government dole before they lose it.

Not to worry though. This Kung Flu bio-weapon is designed to wipe all us old folks out. Social Security deficit problem solved. Enjoy your Brave new world.

Strange world. Huh?

Youre on a fixed income (based on what you paid into the system for your entire working career). All of a sudden every able bodied american runs off to the grocery store to buy every morsel of food and roll of shit paper available. You go with your 150 dollar budget and all there is left is.... 19 dollar organic eggs. The 30 ply super hole cleansing charmin luxury ass blaster toilet paper. Youre fighting for the last can of lysol so you dont die because some 30 yr old bunker building mask wearing canned food hoarding incel bought 90 cans because the bat soup coughs are going to kill him. As if his life is worth a shit anyway. Now this 74 yr old woman has two choices. Eat her cat or fucking die. After paying into the system for 40 years. Give them their shitty 1200 fucking dollars and complain about congress getting 25 fucking million dollars.

Well said! I just (finally) created an account to upvote this. I'm so tired of watching people that don't deserve a shit sandwich eat better than the elderly that built this country. Think the elderly shop for food at Dollar Tree because they want to? I recently saw an old timer struggling with his food card at an Aldi. Cashier was giving him shit being 35 cents short. He had $17 in items. I don't know if I enjoyed the pissed look on the cunt's face more than his gratitude but it was close. I will make it more of a habit to pick up their tabs when I can. They fucking deserve it.

I mean, some do actually. I remember one of my grandmas used to shop at thrift stores and buy day old bread and buy things in bulk that would go bad before she used it all (like the giant ketchup that ended up fermenting lol). And she was LOADED between cash in the bank and in stocks. She just didn't want to actually spend any of it.

I can see that and I am a cheap bastard myself but I have also seen a few struggling first hand. Kills me.

A lot of assumptions back and forth here. Don't fall into the trap of thinking poverty is arrived at in a noble fashion. If you have 60 years to create a savings account for your old age and you don't have a penny in your account, it's worth asking what the fuck you did with your life.

hairylegs 1 point ago +1 / -0

People on a fixed income might get a raise every year for $25 or whatever the going cola rates are for them. Meanwhile property taxes and meds raise in cost by the hundreds. Not every elderly person worked for six figures in their day. They paid into a system that assured them everything would be great and were let down.

Fuck those old people. They had their entire lives to save up money. They had their entire lives to be nice to people around them so they don't have to live like that. They should have saved for their retirement. They get so many benefits just for being old it's disgusting - free health care, basically 0 property taxes, senior citizen discounts everywhere, free food from countless organizations.

What did they do instead? Waste all of their money as soon as they got it, put almost none of it away, and in the process piss off their entire family to the point that no one in their family wants anything to do with them.

It seems like my grandfather was one of the smart ones. Actually put money away. Even in his 90's, he doesn't have much left, but has enough for a rainy day. He also has his house that worst case he can do a reverse mortgage on and get at least $500k out of it. He's also extremely nice to everyone he meets. End result? People visit him multiple times a week just to spend time with him and even bring him lunch and groceries. I visit him every week. My aunt and uncle visit him weekly. My cousins each visit him at least once a month. He has friends and there is someone at his house almost every day, even though he can't drive anymore. He really is that sweet old man that makes you a cup of coffee and offers you some cookies to anyone who comes over (yes, at that age). Maybe if more old people were like him, they wouldn't be in the situation of "eat their cat or die". But no, most old people are miserable assholes that NO ONE wants to be around whose bank accounts also hover under $10 for 75% of the month.

So honestly, I don't feel the least bit bad for those people. They can (and should) fuck off and die. They are no longer useful to society, and they are nothing more than a financial and psychological drain on society and everyone around them.

They'll be old and prosperous because they'll follow their grandfather's example.

I feel sorry for you, I saved most of my life until at 40 while running I fell ( heart attack) 72,000.00 open heart. Insurance paid 20.000.00 then pacemaker and stint 37,000.00 then spinal ( remove something from hi joe days) 30.000. You have no clue how fast all you have saved and worked for can disappear.

SS for a lot of folks is $800/mo. The economy bursting in 2008 meant you needed a 4yr degree just to answer the phones for someone. Those years really impacted anyone who retired recently. Free healthcare? Medicare is no longer free - that plus drug coverage and it can be $300+/mo. There are co-pays for medications and often seniors need several medications. The reason there is free food for some seniors is because they can't afford it otherwise. Toss in a broken hip, detached retina, or other something you couldn't have avoided even if you did eat healthy & exercise, and money finds a way to not be there for a rainy day. Yay for your grandpa. Some folks planned better, or just got lucky - maybe a bit of both.

Volunteer at a Senior Center - get to see what it is really like. A lot of seniors can't drive and need to go to appointments. Make someone's day like your Grandpa does. There are a lot of people who are lonely and not because they are old sourpusses. Some have breathing difficulties or painful arthritis and can't move as fast or walk as far. People without physical difficulties sometimes lose patience going slow for them. Sometimes the slower person doesn't want to be a burden and isolates them self. It really is a much more complicated situation than you realize. Do some research, find some compassion. One day you may be that person who would love to make a cup of coffee for someone, but no one thinks to come by.

I don't know that they should fuck off and die, but you've pretty well explained the strategy a person should have for old age. Financial responsibility and local community involvement.

There is a simple explanation.
They don't want to send Checks to Dead People. You know.... Democrats....
Recent filings is a solid way of making sure we don't redo 2008 Obama Scam Stimulus.

Extremely disappointing to see the rebublicans vote this pork barrel filled excuse for a bill through. Grow a spine, then bitch. Until then, shut the fuck up. BTW, anytime you bitchass cowards want to fix obamacare, we'd like our affordable insurance back.

Got to disagree with Cotton here. These former workers on social security are like college students who are non-workers. These funds shouldn't be targeted at them.

The IRS.gov/coronavirus web page says that if you are receiving Social Security Benefits and are not making enough money to file taxes that the money will be deposited into your account.

1
OGTD1 1 point ago +5 / -4

I’m confused. If you are on SS you have to file tax returns because the SS checks are considered income (go figure Ponzi scheme). So wouldn’t only negligent people that weren’t paying taxes not be eligible for more money?

10
Nadlers_Belt 10 points ago +10 / -0

yes. you are very confused.

6
frumpy 6 points ago +6 / -0

If this is their only income, it likely falls under the threshold to require a filing.

1
teh_dahnald 1 point ago +9 / -8

but aren't they still getting their social security checks? i'm more concerned about people getting no checks than seniors getting a bonus
