These are today's Win updates:
- adjusted the rising tab to no longer include actively stickied content, and a limit of 90 minutes rather than 120 minutes. This will hopefully help to bring attention to more high quality content that doesn't get stickied.
- added an icon to indicate users who have recently joined (we'll review the impact it has)
- fixed the remaining errors on login (let me know if you still encounter this)
- renamed NSFW toggle setting to more accurately reflect its function
- added a new report option: "Requires NSFW Tag" (reminder that you can mark your own posts as NSFW, but use this report option for other people's posts that need the tag)
- fixed issue where dark mode comment minimize bar was no longer dark
- fixed issue where points would not visually update when voting on comments on mobile
- updating of points when voting on comments on mobile
- updated Facebook/Twitter metatags
- fixed bracket inconsistency around comment scores
Leave your feedback, bug reports, and suggestions in the comments. Upvote the suggestions that you agree with most. We'll use this as an indicator of what's most important.
Site is looking great guys. I’m here pretty much all day right now as I’m on lockdown. When you upvote or downvote a comment all of the child comments in the chain will reflect the parent comments score until you reload the page.

the comments that stem from an original comment. For example your comment is a child of the comment you replied to, and mine is child of your comment. Think of a family tree and how it's drawn up. with each new generation line.
I love reading the child comments. There should be a place on here that focuses on the very best of child comments. Kinda like how great food is foodporn or the best designs are found at designporn, best artifacts are ar artifactporn, etc. I wonder what we should call the best child comments, I know! Good thought. Like ways to sort child comments by Top? I think it defaults to old and that’s the way it works on the other place too. I could be wrong on that though. I’m not sure if that would mess the conversation up but I don’t think it would.

Responses to our comments are "children" of our comments, and there is a little arrow thingy to hide/show the sometimes prolific lineage of verbal grandchildren those things can spawn.
I see that Our Mods have upgraded the way you can see that file-tree sort of structure, mouse-hovering over the blank area to the left <--- shows a grey bar thingy that helps connect which "child" comment is responding to what. (On my desktop computer setup anyway, I donno about phones/tablets)

Probably at 100K they will tell. But remember, lurkers outnumber subs 20:1 or even 50:1 at times. And commenters are maybe 10% of subs. And posters are even less, maybe 30% of commenters. THATS WHY WE NEEDS THE MEMES, MY PRECIOUS.

It actually seems to be low karma accounts instead of just new accounts. Maybe both, I actually didn't do much checking. Accounts as old as 130 days are showing it though and they have next to no karma. Good idea for sure.

Click the user name you want, and then click the three dashed lines on the upper right toolbar (on mobile at least). Your account is 35 days old. How about mine?

I was worried too since TheDonald.win is now listed as one of my favorites on my Google launch page and on my saved links bar. I've had moments of panic when screen sharing but I've also learned there are others out there who after the meeting are like "I didn't know you visited TheDonald!"
I'm getting to the point where I want to engage with those who disagree because I'm reminded of the Edmund Burke quote: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." This is not to say I troll them like our memes but have honest loving thoughtful discussion. I try to even start where they are coming from but then say "I want to challenge you on something..." and then leave them with something to think about. It's worked with some of my liberal academic colleagues.

I noticed an issue today on mobile. When upvoting a post, when the vote count changes, it also changes the number on every child comment in the thread to the exact same number.

It's not censorship. People who don't want to be nannied can easily opt-out with one setting. So it doesn't hurt to err on the side of being cautious. This is for all the newcomers who don't quite understand the celebrating of well-endowed patriots.

On mobile chrome on android, I get an error if I try to set my default comment order to "Controversial", that appears when I press the submit button. Old, New, and Top all allow saving on the same device.

When I read replies to my comments, I can't see my original comment they are replying to- it just takes me to the main post. THat would be a nice fix- cause I am often wondering what the heck I said after reading some weird/random replies. lol
One of the text buttons under the reply to your post says "context," and if you open that link, even though the page will open showing the main post that started the thread, just scroll down, and you'll find your post easily because that page won't be showing all comments the thread has.
If your post is not the top one of the chain, you'll see a few other posts above yours too, but the reply you're looking up will be right under your comment that was replied to, even if on the full thread, that reply is further down, after other earlier replies to your comment.
When you open the "context page, if there are more comments above yours, just scroll down to the last two comments of the page, and those will be your own comment, followed by the reply you were looking up.

Hey Doggos! Great job to you and the team. It's feeling like home now. Works very very well. Question: Reddit had a "Parent" feature to more quickly find the initial post in a long thread. A mouse hover would cause a flyout window with the parent comment in it or you could click it and go straight to it. Is that in the plans?

Feature request: a link at the bottom of comments to go directly to the parent comment, like reddit has.
Bug report: when leaving a tab open for a while (30 mins, an hour, something like that), unable to post any comments. Have to refresh to do so. If this is by design, a message displayed to that effect would be good.
