All you have to do is test a fuck ton of people the moment cases start popping up, stick the ones who are asymptomatic into quarantine and hook them up with Chloroquine, the ones who are sick into quarantine with doctors and hook them up with Chloroquine, and the ones who are really sick into the ICU with doctors and Chloroquine.

Keep practicing social distancing, track down people leaving Covid hotspots and put them under quarantine, disinfect every nook and cranny of surface area, and society can resume without putting huge numbers of people under lockdown and killing the economy.

Shilling.

“Muh testing” was the fake news talking point for two weeks.

if we cant leave, those of us who dont even have it are not going to want to stay stuck around people who do

I don't think anyone is even hoping we can contain this one. We're just trying to slow the spread for long enough to make it to summer so we can get prepared for when it comes back in the fall.

I think we will get to the point of being able to 1) test a f-ton of people relatively soon (weeks) 2) throw HCQ at everyone (month?) and 3) test for anti-bodies for those that already may have had it (months?). It is going to take a little time to get those system out there and ready. In the meantime we are being asked to take other measures. Honestly have no idea and even on .win every single damn thing is so hotly contested.

Actually Dr. Brit said today that the antibody tests could be created in a couple days. She challenged our research universities to do so by the end of the week. Getting them mass produced and available will probably take some time.

But to answer the OP’s question, we can contain it, and are when these isolation tactics are used. Here in Oregon, our cases dropped today from yesterday. But, until very recently, people were out in crowds everywhere, and it’s very contagious. You mainly get it from your hands to face, unless you get directly sneezed or coughed into you face. People got infected, maybe asymptomatic, spread that shit everywhere. Now we’re trying to stop it from going off the rails, and those states that have come down hard and early (west coast, for example) are seeing it flatten off.

True. She did say that. I am not sure when those tests could be out in mass but very good points.

Dude they put it in test kits, and symptoms don't show, while you're infecting people for 2 weeks.
