This is a good post. Thanks man. I lived in Yokohama for 10 years and never thought I would want someone like Trump for president but once while in Japan (about 2003) I heard him on Sean Hannity's radio show on the Internet talking about rebuilding the World Trade Center exactly as it was before but one floor taller and thought, this is the kind of guy we need for a president. When he announced on the escalator I knew I would vote for him.
Japan's mostly a wonderful country and I hope you enjoy your time there. My family was planning a trip back in June but not sure about it now because of all this shit.
I understand why America felt it appropriate to elect a Trump. I think a lot of people felt they were being swept away under the rug and felt they had been attacked and wanted a leader who symbolizes - unashamedly - a bold and powerful country that doesn’t mind getting its hands dirty for the betterment of its people. Trump isn’t that different from his predecessors. He’s just open about it, and that’s... kind of refreshing.
Please do come back one day. Japan is a wonderful place and and I’m sure your trip will be a great one when the area is safe again. Until then, take care of yourself and your loved ones!
