Thank you, but we got lucky - we got in early in the 2000s before prices got insane and then my dad was able to help in the last year. But I know what you mean about being frugal elsewhere. I still drive a 2001 model car and we only just got rid of our 1997 model 3 years ago. We bought a used 2015 minivan in 2017 and it was so exciting. Kids think it's the most luxurious thing ever. :) People think we're hard up too and I guess we are in a sense because the house is small and cash flow is low, but no mortgage makes it all worth it.
