That is how exponential growth curves work. It starts slow and begins to ramp up. We had 1000+ dead from the virus yesterday, now expect 1000+ every day (there may be a dip for a day). In a few days, we'll reach 2000 deaths. When you start counting the deaths in the thousands per day, 100,000 can be reached real fast.

We had 15 known cases as of March 15. 18 days later, we have 219,000 cases. In which world is that slow?

I don't know what narrative you assume I'm pushing, because all I've done is point out where and how you are wrong. None of it has been prescriptive. You can do whatever you want with the info, but those are the facts.
