Stop listening to the deep state docs. 10 million added to UE rolls, 5,000 (mostly) sick elderly died. This is not sustainable.

Totally. Screw China. So pissed off about this. We should remove our debt to them and call it even. Then hit them hard with their complete failure to communicate to everyone else what was going on. Wait, or was it a failure? Perhaps intentionally. The only man that had foresight and did something was Trump by closing travel to China. In my opinion, it should’ve been far more restrictive but that’s all hindsight and lessons learned.

What do you mean when you says ten million added to UE rolls?

Unemployed. 6.6 m today and 3.3 last week.

This is not sustainable, agreed. However, Trump was saying the dead could be in the millions without intervention, or down in the 100-200,000 range with it.

What amount of money would you give up for the 800,000 lives?

Personally, I'd rather see us quarantine/isolate high risk individuals only, and let everyone else work, get exposed, and go through the cycle. But, Trump and his admin are making decisions facing WWII level US casualties from this in 1 year if the worst estimates are to be believed.

There are going to be more deaths from suicide, drugs and alcoholism than from the Kung Flu if this drags out.

added spez: Every AA and NA meeting is shut down in many areas. This is going to be rough time for people in recovery.

This might be the real latent and sad truth.

Already fielding calls from several friends that are being furloughed.

They are stressed about bills, of course, but a big part of someone's occupation (especially someone with a legit career) empowers meaning in their life.

Depression is real. Drinking, drugs, self-harm, and suicide are common outcomes of depression.

Even if grudgingly, people need a reason to "get out of bed" in the morning.

Don't forget about family annihilations and murder-suicides. The divorce rates are going to skyrocket (they have already increased). This is going to give a whole lot of Americans clinical depression and anxiety that have never experienced it.

The social distancing nonsense isn't going to leave the public's consciousness any time soon.

Asked another way:

How many lives are we willing to destroy to prevent a higher body count?

Where is the point of diminishing returns?

Do you own a business?

Unfortunately it looks like wage slaves outnumber free men and will be voting for more slavery because that's all they know.

These are things one does not recover from without conflict unfortunately.

Agreed. More people die from car accidents each year, than this virus will kill in it's lifetime but you don't see us taking cars off the road and halting the economy

Doesn't stop the liberals from trying. Banning cars from cities is always pretty high on their agenda, although they only ever seem to care about the pollution and not the deaths.
