Since the number of confirmed infections is a function of testing, you have no idea what the infection rate is. My point was that the death rates are not even close to some sort of exponential surge we've been led to expect by our public health official doomsayers. LA County has had linear growth in deaths over the last four days, at around ten per day.

I haven't seen data of test accuracy for these newer tests. Are we getting a lot of false positives? I know the early tests only showed positive 30-50% of the time somebody was actually sick. And that's with inflated numbers! They are counting people with suspected cases, underlining diseases, and people dying from old age.
So, if we shut down for 0.04% confirmed cases, we're not going to reopen until there's a much lower rate. But this is not going away. It will always be around.
