My wife got transferred to another state. My skills are (were) in extremely high demand so I resigned my position a couple of weeks before the move so I could concentrate on getting things ready.

Then Corona hit. Yes we moved anyway - been at the new house a week now. Now we're probably going to have problems selling our old house. Wife's job still seems pretty solid although she's working from home doing what she can.

My predicament is that I don't know if I could find a comparable job right now even if I tried. If I did I'd have to put our kid back in daycare which puts us all at risk.. AND if the daycare shuts down I have to quit a brand new job.

Financially we'll be OK for several months assuming my wife's job stays intact, but it sucks. I can't get unemployment. I declined a transfer at my work to down here because of a very long commute from our residence. I'm regretting that decision now but how could I have possibly even begun to know?

Guess I'm a stay-at-home-dad for the next month or two until this all blows over...
