Keeping your home is good and rah rah., but that policy dumps ALL the burden on the small group of landlords, who need the $ to operate a business. Who helps them? And what happens when that business segment fails. Source, land lord here[no, NOT that kind]

This was my reaction, I own one rental property and my husband and I try to be conscientious landlords. Complete non payment of rent for 6 months will put us in serious hardship (we’ve only owned it for 1.5ish years). Especially when the tenants will be getting a large amount of government handouts if they are laid off.

And a return, pardon the late response, I am 'here' only of an evening, NOW!

Thank you for the MS and the view from 'our side' of the Question. I am in a better situation that thee and thine are, I suspect. If all 'goes south' as TOO much does in Calif. you stand to loose it all., For this writer, I owned clear the property I sold, I "hold the Note" for the place, thus I am Bank and LandLord. I can make adjustments to the rent, without sinking my retirement, but you, and x numbers all, are not so fortunate. Something Good has to happen soon, of we will ALL be back to "AD 56" and all the Amish will be laughing at us from the back of their buggies!

The Sad and Real Question ? Who benefits from all this Destruction of American commerce? And 'how' for the other facet of the question.
