Wasn't the NY study started last Tuesday, lasting 5-6 days? Has that study been competed?

They didn’t start it Tuesday. Maybe Friday, IDK. The stuff works. I think it has rapidly spread and is being used by a lot of hospitals (not the most TDS ones, I’m sure).

I think the “curve” is about to start falling dramatically. H + Z needs to be given to everyone who gets CV, not just those hospitalized.

Actually there some evidence that it may work as a preventive, e.g. for hospital workers, family members of infected people, etc. And if it's confirmed to work for that, it may turn out that it's effectively a vaccine for people who are definitely getting exposed to the virus, since they would presumably develop antibodies while the hydroxychloroquine is keeping their viral loads way too low for them to develop any symptoms.

That’s how they originally discovered the drug’s benefits. It is used by people who have Lupus - a disease that weakens the immune system. They expected most Lupus patients would get the virus, instead none did. That’s how they figured out that this drug is effective. So it’s definitely a preventative.

Phase 1 is to use it only on hospitalized patients and staff. That ensures our limited quantities are put to their best use and supervised by a doctor 24/7 to look for things going wrong. They are seeing that things are going right. The drug doesn’t work well at all if it is not used until people are already on a respirator. It needs to be given sooner.

Phase 2 should be to give it to everyone who gets CV. I think we should be doing that today, but my best guess is it’s still a week away from doctors doing this. I think we have enough supply that it would not be a problem as long as people do not hoard.

Phase 3 should be to take it as a preventative - most or all of us could be doing this in the fall. Once a week I believe is enough. We don’t have enough stored away for that yet, but could in a few months. This to me is the final end game - it’s as close to a miracle cure as you can get.

The FDA needs to get out of the way and let tons of companies mass produce the stuff. Make it as common as Tylenol and get rid of these stupid lockdowns.

Prayin' for this to roll out sooner rather than later. I fear they are delaying it to maximize damage.

Glad you said that. I was going to try to find the link to that WSJ article that was just on here & said the Chinese noticed the 80 lupus patients in the hospital over there did not get it, as they were on hydroxychloroquine. I had saved it somewhere to give to a friend who takes it for rheumatoid arthritis. It is stated in the 5th paragraph. https://archive.is/timHx

There was research from 2005 snowing the drugs worked on SARS and earlier cov type viruses. Chloroquine Known as Effective Against Coronavirus Since 2005

Well, don’t forget that a vaccine should be ready by early next year. This is just a stop-gap to get us there. At a minimum, I think that the high-risk groups (60+, immunodeficient) should use H as a prophylactic.

I think this is how Prez knew the drugs worked. He is taking it. In normal Trump fashion, when he's excited and has good news, he let it slip this works.

I'm convinced most of the White House staff is taking it. We can't afford for any of them to be sick and not at work.

I hope so. There was a lot of exaggeration early on, about how effective it is (e.g. "100% cure rate" claims), but there's plenty of evidence that it's the best available treatment right now, and quite possibly the best available preventive measure too.
