Colleges shut down almost immediately. Japan shut all their schools down immediately.
The only way this plays out is if we slow the spread and get vaccines and treatments, or if 1/2 the population is infected and builds immunity.
Our nation cannot stay locked down like this for 18 months. There will no be no jobs then. No health care. No food. Nothing. We can't stay locked down until no new cases emerge, or there will be nothing to emerge for.

Where in the Constitution does it say the Constitution can be suspended for pandemics? I'm sure they were very familiar with mass disease when they wrote it and saw no need to include provisions for it to be suspended.
When the founding fathers and original settlers came to the new world it was not uncommon for a new disease to wipe out 25% of the entire population on a good year. They not only dealt with infectious diseases but suffered much, much more from it. I have no doubt they would be disgusted at modern day Americans

Social distancing is a major component of shutdown. A business will not be able to easily maintain 6ft between all employees and between all customers and operate at pre-COVID capacity.

today april 2nd he goes on tv saying that the entire country needs to be put in quarantine.
