A lot of verses are taken out of the context as written i.e., Jeremiah 29:11. The whole chapter isn't read to see how the verse applies BUT if the verse can give comfort to the reader, go for it. Justice rolling down like waters on the Demoncrats is a nice visual.
It's saying that people can puff up as much as they want and pretend to be godly, but God sees everything, will not reward fake offerings just for show, and will punish those who do evil in His name. Is it only in this one case involving Israel that this is God's way?
A cry for the LORD to cleanse the nations of unrighteousness; to wash away the filth of the haters of mankind who celebrate evil and speak of virtue as though it were unseemly; and to take away the mask of those who pretend to love men, but secretly hate men as well as the LORD.
Amen.
