Recently, NJ's Governor has authorized law enforcement to seize medical equipment (ex. N95s) from the population to re-distribute it. This irked me for obvious reasons. My immediate thought was "This isn't even peak authoritarianism, yet."

Curomo proved me right today, by announcing an executive order enabling the state to seize and re-distribute ventilators to "areas of need". Translation (IMO): Areas equipped to deal with the outbreak when it hits them, are going to be rendered incapable of doing so, so overpopulated and under-equipped areas can get a better shot at surviving.

But don't worry folks, he personally guarantees you will get your ventilators back once the "immediate need" is addressed.
