With due respect to Dr Borysenko, I highly highly doubt that gender studies departments are going to go away anytime soon. It took 40 years to get here and basically all women are benefiting from it. There only a tiny tiny handful of women like Dr Borysenko (I can probably name them all) - Janice Fiamengo, Karen Straughan, Dr Christina Hoff Summer, Camile Paglia, Cathy Young, Bettina Arndt - who are pushing back against gender studies.
It's hard to give up privilege for equality because it would seem like oppression.
The day I celebrate is the day when gender studies departments close down and all the works of feminism, post modernism and critical theory are re-classified to fantasy and religion where they belong.
