Lets not be spreading fake news. I thought the Donald was supposed to hate that right?
Dr. Fauci said
"...it's not something that the citizens of the U.S. right now should be worried about".
Implying that with the information he had available at the time, largely provided by the WHO and China, that the epidemic wasn't as severe as it actually was.
Don't become reddit and just look at headlines/posts.
That's not the point. People across the country are trying to claim that Trump personally did not take the threat seriously enough early on, and blaming him for not listening to his advisors etc. This video clearly shows that at least one of his most important (supposedly) advisors also did not take the threat seriosuly enough in january. It's great ammo against this common, and false, criticism.
I think it also shows why Fauci and Trump have been very reluctant to point the finger at each other. Fauci knows that he's as much to blame as Trump for our late response, if you want to believe that our response was late. Trump is taking the high road and not throwing Fauci and others under the bus for not acting sooner.
Guess you missed the point of the post. The point was to point out that the people in our leadership that were privy to this information had faulty information. Even Trump and as this clip shows Fauci as well.
some people want to give the benefit of the doubt, some want to be skeptical, some want to blame someone, some want to be conspiracy theorists.
Any one of those people could be correct in my opinion. So I just go with whatever Trump is going with. 1: because we have no choice in the matter anyway, and 2: because I support trump and wanna see where this is going.
I'm having a hard time believing the whole world shutting down over nothing.
Oddly enough Trump also said it wasn't something to be concerned about and that they had it totally under control. This was largely based on the information he had available to him, much like Fauci. It's simple China and the WHO lied and people have and will die because of it. Bringing up past comments on the virus before it got this bad won't do any good for either side of the political spectrum.
Bullshit it won't do either side of the spectrum any good. The media and democrats are trying to paint this as a personal failure of Trump not listening to his advisors and waiting too long to take action. Information like this clearly shows that EVERYONE underestimated the impact of the disease and destroys the argument that it was Trump that stood in the way of others in combating the spread of the disease.
That's why I said "bringing up past comments on the virus before it got this bad won't do any good" because everyone underestimated the impact and no one person is totally at fault (save those in chinese government) for it getting as bad as it has.
