Federally, the shutdown can end. For states, unfortunately I don't see it being even close to April 30th. Not on the power trip these govs and mayors are on. They only care about looking good for their own image being seen as "acting for the good of their constituents" so they can beat their chests about it when it's time for reelection.

Living in NJ, I damn sure am voting for whoever is running against Murphy next year when he's up.

Yeah but once blue states see red states open up they are going to have alot of pressure to fall back.

Edit: might i add not just red states but really states that are doing well and can open up cause they had a better state stock pile when this thing hit and are keeping up with demand.

The cure is worse than the disease, and it’s not even a “cure”. It’s just pushing when we get sick down the road. Unless we’re shutting down for 18 months when there’s a vaccine, this “cure” makes no sense. Just open up shit now and let people make their own decisions based on their personal risk profile.

People getting used to being next to each other again. Small Businesses that will close permanently because of this. Etc.

Im a small business.. We arent working but i got my SBA loan and am now able to keep my business and employees paid.. Plus you add stimulus check and bills will get paid or items not necessary bought. Life wont be to different. If your a small business and not taking advantage of the PPP loan what are you doing. Even independent contractors apply starting next week cause you have to go to your bank with more papers

People who are still working have nothing to spend their money on. Once stuff opens back up we’ll see a spike.

This is why the infrastructure bill would be so important right now.

Easter Sunday works for me. Who else is up for an #EconomicResurrection?

I may be naive but It’s getting to the point that we’re gonna just have to open it up, and deal with the aftermath. Ittl give us an edge on China (who really want our economy closed)

Dems want it closed until they ballot harvest in November.

NocturnalPatrol 4 points ago +5 / -1

And with every day that passes, I become more and more convinced we will be forced to vote by mail, at which point the Democrats can literally decide they win.

Time for a Targeted Strategy - find a way to get President Trump to do a National Covid-19 anti-body survey next week. A whole lot of us think that there is a huge number of people who have acquired immunity to Covid-19 after having the china flu in January and thinking it was a bad/unusual cold/flu.

With a large population with acquired immunity, hydorxychloroquine to take care of anyone with symptoms, and the elderly/infirm staying in seclusion till the worst is over - we can get back to work by Easter Monday.

But how do we get President Trump away from Fauci and listening to reason.

When joblessness goes up mortality rates from all causes rise. Somebody needs to do the hard calculations to figure out at what point the economic dip is deadlier than the virus.

This is based on averages which do not include the 2-4 Trillion Dollar mitigation effort. To exclude that destroys the basis for the projections.

The economy will bounce back and perhaps exceed where it started on a monthly basis within a year. My opinion has just as much weight as any other BS Attention starved analyst.

If the numbers don't change, we need to buckle up, bucko. This scourge is not going to end anytime soon.

Acting like he has a gun to his head? GTFO. His federal guidelines are common sense and is providing tremendous support for the States. Ask the republican governors what they are doing, because Trump is a 10/10.
