Since you had the mask prior to this pandemic I would go ahead and wear the mask if you choose to. It don't matter what other people think, you know the real deal. It just goes to show that You are a smart person who was prepared or whatever life throws your way. So wear your mask with pride and God Bless You. Stay Safe!
That's an interesting point there, that the vents on an N95 might be spreading your germs around more easily than an old fashioned surgical mask or dust mask.
What do surgeons use? They have to protect the exposed patient from their own germs.
At any rate, I'd use them myself. If anyone gives you shit, just tell them that you had them since 2014.
I don't think it matters if it's still rated N95. In any case non of these masks are specifically tested for viruses but anything is better than nothing.
Fair enough. Im in a pretty big city and quite a few people are wearing masks. Even just construction masks. I havnt seen anyone really confronted about it. Haven't been out too much since they advised a quarinteen though
Don't wear, you will get attacked, I have severe allergies an I got asked ostrisized today for having red eyes, and allergy symptoms. I was like, Christ on a cracker, dial in your fear asshole.
Welcome to collectivism. The good of any individual must be subjugated to the needs of the collective as determined by the oligarchy self-designated to speak on behalf of the collective. There is no private property, only community property the collective graciously allows you to use. What you deem to be best for you and your family is of no consequence. The needs of hypothetical future victims in remote locations are more important.
Yeah, it's an unfortunate reality that most Americans in general have been fortunate enough not to have faced before. That's real American privilege there and I'll fight to the death to keep it.
The sad fact of the matter is, in any historical communist uprisings, it wasn't the military or cops marching through the streets that caught most people, it was their own neighbors turning them in. The most upsetting thing to me about this whole situation is how many individuals even on this forum seem to be ready to go full brown-shirt at the first sign of a bad cough.
I would wear the mask and not worry about what others say or think. It's none of their business. If you're concerned about the vent spreading possible contagion, you could try taping it up. Duct tape or electrician's tape would probably do the trick.
Wear them. Why the hell do you care what other people think? Fuck other people. You are in this life for you and your kin. Defend them. Protect them. Provide for them. Fuck everything else.
Yeah, I've got a hundred of more stockpiled from when Menards had Free After Rebate sales. Should I sell those on eBay, or are the feds gonna shut me down?
10 people approaching her in 10 minutes seems like an exaggeration though. I can't imagine most people approaching a stranger in public. Maybe more likely in the south/rural areas where people are generally more friendly.
Don't feel guilty if this is something you had before this all started. Seriously. I mean, I had bulk packages of TP and I don't feel guilty one bit for not sharing with anyone. Of course that's not life saving but the way some people were behaving you would think it was. At any rate, I say wear the mask if you think you are sick or if you have one of the underlying conditions. Otherwise, save them. If you have family members in need bc they have the underlying conditions then share with them. But you are under no obligation to hand over your box of 40 masks to the hospital.
I was wondering this too. I have a lowly 2 N95 masks, my dad bought. He passed in 2016. I thought about wearing a bandana like a bad guy OVER the mask, to make it less obvious. My town has had 2 riots over TP, and someone pulled a gun in a small grocer’s parking lot. Haven’t tried it ( wearing mask with bandana, not rioting or pulling a gun) so don’t know how it would work though. I did call hospital several weeks ago and offered them, the lady laughed at me.
Donate those to your local hospital. They need that quality level; you don't. Also if they're good enough for the hospitals and military, they're the top of the line. Do a good deed! Help our healthcare workers!

No one will think shit, if they do, who cares?
Around 25% of people in the grocery stores are wearing them. Plus a massive amount of idiots that have no idea how gloves are supposed to work.
Wear gloves, touch things with gloves, touch self with gloves, touch self with gloves Gru flip chart meme
just fill in the numbers so it says M88.

FBI, OPEN UP!
Lol it's your health who cares of people think you are an asshole

Good time to learn how to beat a fool up, if not at least have good comebacks and tell them to fuck off.
This would be a good experience for you if that's what is worrying you.
Use them and don't feel guilty about it. Give some away to friends and loved ones if you'd like. Not your job to supply hospitals.
Yeah I just saw the notice from cdc that guilt trips us from buying (or wearing) n95 models.
Weird shit.
Don’t wear the good masks and don’t take Hydroxycloroquine. That stuff needs to protect the globalists - I mean the frontline workers.

Just fake cough a couple of times if anybody says shit

wear sunglasses at night even while inside.
No one will suspect a thing.
Fuck it. I've worn a mask, gloves and a pair of goggles everytime I've gone to the grocery store.
If you have 80 of them then sure I guess you can donate some of them.
It's not my fault I had more forethought than haters.
Tell the you are "Immune compromised". Just lie, mate.
Seriously once that word became popular the usual hypochondriacs on my social media have been talking about it non-stop.

Soooo....several states are talking about making it MANDATORY for anyone outside to be wearing a mask.
Where are these folks supposed to get them? And can they simultaneously be arrested for "hoarding"?
Lol...helter skelter. You get the government you deserve.
Wear the N95. If the package your N95s came in was previously opened, hospitals can’t take it since they don’t know it isn’t contaminated.
I had a pack of 20 for woodworking, I had used 1, and my hospital would not take the others.
Also: according to a Stanford study you can bake it for 30 min at 160 degrees to sterilize it.
If you’re overly concerned than wear a bandana or surgical mask over the top of the n95. It won’t be terribly obvious without closer inspecting.

Because they do work for average people that argument was nonsense.

It's a free country. Do what you want.
I bet people were asking where to get them.

I'm a big guy so nobody has dared say anything besides give me a 1 second "look".

They said they were fully stocked. Still only 2 cases in my county.
If you had 20,000 and were keeping them I would think you are an asshole. 40 or 60, not so much.
I have a 2 pack I bought back in Jan when I was doing some work on the house. Still I dont think its necessary. Trump isnt wearing one
Remember that time when users on this forum were for totalitarianism(fascisim?) when some guy bought a whole lot of hand sanitizer?
Obviously, the people(mob) decide if you have too much and can rightfully take it away from you
