The President is required to give Congress 30 days notice before he fires one of the Inspectors General, as determined by the 9/11 commission that recommended its creation, I believe.
I know the office was created due to the 9/11 commission in order to foster interdepartmental cooperation and information sharing between our intelligence branches. But I don't know if the 30 days notice clause was specifically something they added, or was preexisting and applies more broadly to positions under the direct report of the President.
Basically he was required to give Congress 30 days notice he was going to fire Atkinson so he did so, then sent Atkinson home for the next 30 days to wait it out so he couldn't do any more damage on his way out the door.
But none of that has anything to do with Schiff's response. Schiff has been planning, and probably rehearsing it in from of his mirror every morning (assuming he's got a reflection), since Spygate started. This firing has been expected since Jesus left Chicago.
And I say good riddance and let the commission to investigate the findings of the IG's conduct begin. He needs to be perp walked with the rest of them. He is maybe the only person that could've unilaterally stopped all of this from ever happening had he even the faintest inclination or love of country in his veins to do so.
What did Congress get 30 days notice for? The end of the quarantine?
Hopefully termination with cause, and no severance pay
Definitely am hoping this too. I love this post and nice comment!
Helicopter rides.
