I save all my plastic film and return it to the store entry at Winco or Walmart or some Safeways

Recycling takes up a lot of resources, just think about it. Reusing items is an order of magnitude better than recycling.

And that's before you get to the stuff where they outsource the recycling to China, who just throws it in the ocean.
