How about Pelosi telling everyone to get her in Chinatown and have a good time, nothing to worry about? How about the new Orleans mayor saying Mardi gras is fine.

Reminds me of Jaws when the mayor doesn't want to shut the beaches despite being warned by experts. They didn't want to allow Quint to do what is necessary to take care of the problem. The parallels are astounding.
