Government safety nets have their place. Fuck you libs for abusing them.

Mr_Dr_Jullian_Dunbar 61 points ago +61 / -0

Yup.

Worked in high end hospitality - on track for CLEARING 70k this year after taxes. Means to an end before I started my own side hustle full-time.

Jobs are gone, friends at the VP level of solid ass non-cucked tech firms (1 billion plus annual revenue) have hiring freezes till JUNE 1ST - I'd be able to hop on a sales gig with growth without a hickup using any "rescue package".

People don't get it. Am tired of hearing people on this dom shit on about 80% of us since we literally dont have 6 plus months of savings.

Poured all my extra capital into my startup and personal debts - so for the uppity folksand pedes I've been seeing, empathy is a good traitto put into perspective.

Trump knows this, hence the aggressive nature of these bills.

The shutdown came so fast that people had essentially no time to prepare.

In the midwest, it was all a downward spiral after the schools closed. They were the first to make a move and they did it at the flip of a switch, no warning.

Are you concerned at all about a potentially negative impact on your business if they reopen and customers start contracting the virus?

22

Let me put this bluntly. I'd rather have 10% of my customers die from c19 than have no customers.

2
Bluestorm83 2 points ago +2 / -0

And honestly? If you see one of your customers coughing on merchandise, you are empowered by your rights to say "Hey, asshole, go home until you're not sick. You're an idiot for putting us all at risk."

All kinds of people in my area are convinced they had it in Nov/Dec. pretty sure wife picked it up from her school(teacher)

20
KekistanPM 20 points ago +20 / -0

And they should only catch the people not caught by family nets, friends nets, church nets and private charity nets.

I don't give 10% of my income to charity because muh feels; I do it because it's an investment. I expect a return on that investment in the form of people not starving and not having to spend their nights in their cars in the ghetto on a cold rainy night. I also do it because it's my obligation as a Christian to do so; and I'm glad to do it.

Don't even necessarily have to surrender to nature. In my state, the cases and deaths are heavily distributed in high population density areas or lower population density areas where people frequently commute to those higher density areas for work. Everywhere else cases and deaths are almost non-existent. Yet we have this one-size-fits all dictate from the governor that everything everywhere gets shut down. Why do you need to "flatten the curve" when your curve is already pretty flat just by virtue of where you live and how many people live around you?

It's why people in rural areas hate urban politicians: because urban politics always get foisted upon them, even when they aren't necessary or are counterproductive.

12
ShiffsDeadHooker 12 points ago +12 / -0

My town is shut down by order of the mayor and governor, a town with a daytime population of about 250,000 people. It's a retail mecca for many miles around. We have ONE CASE that's been confirmed in the last three weeks. That's it. And a handful of unconfirmed cases that had symptoms but were sent home to self-quarantine. And we are shut down starting Monday. The stores today were insane. Instead of normal traffic like it was with just regular "social distancing" now you have whoever may possibly be infected panicking that they have to go out and shop because they are scared shitless.

Three more weeks of this may possibly be tolerable. Beyond that, no. And there's zero reason to devastate our food service industry like they are doing. Many if not most will not recover. Sure, new ones will come in their place eventually. Years from now.

11
lgbtqwtfbbq 11 points ago +11 / -0

The largest town in my county is less than 1/5 the size of yours. In the entire county cases peaked at less than 10/day and did so a week before everything got shut down. We haven't had any confirmed cases for a few days. No deaths. If you look at the curve it's pretty symmetrical, which suggests the shutdown had no effect on how things played out.

I know the politicians just think we're a bunch of ignorant Trump voters over here, but I think our county's hospital infrastructure would have been able to keep things under control.

11
PocketPosse 11 points ago +11 / -0

THIS!!!! If you live in a big city, pandemics are just part of your civilization bonus. Here in rural america we have 40% reduced pandemics but 200% increased commute to nearest Trader Joe. We dont need the same response that a dog-piled cesspool like New York City needs.

5
thisisatestof2 5 points ago +5 / -0

I live in CT. I did the math a day ago and about 60% of all cases and deaths are in Fairfield county, which borders NYC and is largely a bedroom community for people who work in NYC. The next nighest is New Haven county. Both are along the NEC corridor and see lots of train travel to and from NY.

They're already going nuts, driving like maniacs and doing donuts in intersections, honking and yelling at each other.

Speeders know cops don't wanna pull them over and touch the same pen to sign off on a ticket, so lots of speeding going on out there.

I give it 2 weeks before Mad Max levels of insanity.

16
KekistanPM 16 points ago +16 / -0

Are you in an urban or rural area? I live on the edge of Austin so I get a little of both; and I'm not seeing anything like this.

7
The_Litehaus_Abides 7 points ago +7 / -0

Small city of about 40,000 next to another smallish city of 70,000.

A little bit redneck, but seeing demographic changes due to people moving in from the big city 85 miles away.

Regardless, every race of people I'm seeing are not happy campers so I can definitely see it getting worse.

Survial of the fittest huh?

There are times to tell moochers to go fuck themselves. Seeing the same pan handlers asking for cash when you literally pass six places on the way to go lift at the gym with "help wanted" signs can again fuck off.

My father on the other hand at times would see an old woman with a walker struggling to carry her groceries home with a dozen blocks left to go. He'd be on the way somewhere we needed to go and would pull over, go out of his way to make sure she got home okay.

The callousness with some people is astonishing - GEOTUS has more than a generous nature (read up on this).

At the same time he'd be more than happy to kick the lowlifes, grifters and loosers to the curb.

Perspectives pede

When it's all said and done we will find out that 250 million people got it throughout the world and only 500,000 died (basically equivalent of a bad flu). Mark my words.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/italy/

"Italy: the real number of COVID-19 cases in the country could be 5,000,0000 (compared to the 119,827 confirmed ones) according to a study which polled people with symptoms who have not been tested, and up to 10,000,000 or even 20,0000,000 after taking into account asymptomatic cases, according to Carlo La Vecchia, a Professor of Medical Statistics and Epidemiology at the Statale di Milano University."

6
NocturnalPatrol 6 points ago +8 / -2

I've been lied to about everything. I thought we lived in a free country.

There's no such thing. We live at the mercy of the state, just like everybody else in the world. Just like the people of China. We've merely had the luxury of living under a state that has permitted us to live as if we were free, but that came to an end a few weeks ago, and whether this all ends 18 months from now, or tomorrow, I am permanently disillusioned.

I don't know if I can ever celebrate Independence Day, or Memorial Day, or Veterans Day ever again. We're not free, or independent, and our veterans died for nothing.

Seriously, it's a good thing that actual men who aren't afraid of being called names like Donald Trump exists, because guys like you, (and Mittens, and Jeb), would never be able to get the things that Donald Trump has accomplished done if a simple name-calling can cause them to freeze up (like a huge faggot).

Trump just retweeted a suggestion to do exactly that. He's a businessman. He knows the things you call "bullshit" are necessary.

He can't force the states to roll back their measures, for the same reason he couldn't order them to impose them in the first place: the federal government can only do so across state and national boundaries.

The states have implemented public health orders under their own laws. Trump can't order them rescinded. Trump has to CONVINCE the states to rescind them.

5
ryvrdrgn14 5 points ago +9 / -4

This is quite true and it's the same for a lot of the people here as well. Some people are fine with taking a leap of faith, but there's a very thin line between that and being reckless.

People have been very busy and worried. A lot of people have been out of touch for a very long time. Work, life and other distractions have people focused on what is in front of them instead of what's behind them. It's a really wonderful little magic trick. Look here, not there!

Trump has to go with the lowest common denominator to get everyone on board.

18
27Sandino 18 points ago +18 / -0

There doesn't need to be one. But there is one advantage that can't be dismissed-- if Trump single handedly pushes for the economy to open he's going to be excoriated by the msn so much so that it stands to hurt him with centrists. If instead you make the face of this movement a professional task force with economic experts that Trump can defer to it will greatly soften the inevitable propaganda blow that will claim Trump cares more about money than people.

I support this.

5
deleted 5 points ago +9 / -4
7
27Sandino 7 points ago +8 / -1

Deferring to experts to avoid inevitable political backlash is not walking on egg shells, it's politically prudent. It's very easy to do as well, Trump would be committing an unforced error by not deferring on paper.

3
deleted 3 points ago +5 / -2
7
27Sandino 7 points ago +7 / -0

Maybe I'm not clear, I'm not suggest that Trump actually defer, I'm suggesting to use a task force as the face of the movement so that he can't be smeared.

1

3
27Sandino 3 points ago +3 / -0

He will defer on paper, but will encourage them to be sane.

This is also Trump's m.o., why do you think he hasn't pardoned anyone despite clearly wanting to? He has to play the game because of the power of negative press that managed to convince millions of people he's a Russian agent. It's my opinion that a "task force" can only help.

1
deleted 1 point ago +3 / -2

Thing is, if the economy simply starts recovering, people will notice regardless of what the MSM says. The only real obstacle to that is Dem governors actively working against that sort of recovery. Which they will.

1
27Sandino 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes and no, people will definitely notice, but you can't discount the entire media singing in harmony against Trump.

If we agree that the best course of action is to end the shutdown soon, to get businesses running again while still adhering to basic social distancing protocols, what is the resistance to having some professionals help spread the message?

People are scared far more than they ought to in many instances specifically because of the media. It's not as simple as saying back to work, there needs to be a concerted effort. Then dem governors can voice their objections to other professionals and not just Trump.

5
Cyer6 5 points ago +5 / -0

The media have been salivating for the moment when Trump starts to fire off orders without "the approval" of Dr. Fauci and the other doctors on his team. That's why they always ask "where's Dr. Fauci?" They would love for Trump to order the country open for business all on his own so they can blame every covid death on him from that point on. So he needs a multi-discipline team to back him up and remove the decision making away from his current team of doctors.

We get it here, but when I go on Nextdoor to see how the locals around here are talking, it's shocking to see how they think. Many will gladly forego all of their rights for a little safety and have others locked away just for taking a walk. And this is in Texas! If Trump is going to get us through this and win, he needs to convince all of these sheep that it's OK to move forward and face down the risks. Failing to do that will lead to the permanent destruction of the country.

Here's the priority list: Winning 2020 > Fixing the economy > Wuflu "Crisis" (which is nearly over, hence why we're moving on).

Trump can't fix this mess if he's not there to fix it come November. We know from 2016 we need a YUGE margin to get over the commie fraud that still managed to steal entire states.

  • Quit wasting our time and theirs with daily 60-120 minute "briefings", replace it with short and to the point updates as needed to reflect new information, with one 60 minute Q&A session per week.

  • We quickly move to end the forced shutdown of American enterprise and let people make their own health and safety decisions and we green-light the cocktail drug for immediate dispersal throughout the country (the equiv of getting a flu shot)

And all the PC-libtards who clutch tightly to their binders of legal "gotchya!" shams, wordgames, and peach mints can just suck it.

Because like they said, elections have consequences, right?

The experts have conferred and after a thorough review of the issue, they have determined that making it illegal for businesses to open is, in fact, bad for the economy. Furthermore, they more or less agree that not making it illegal for businesses to open would be good for the economy.

Surprisingly people in Chicago haven't since Gov. Trust Fund Fat Ass issued his unconstitutional stay at home order nor when Mayor Bug Eyes closed the lakefront and surrounding parks. People are out and next week's warmer weather will be even more so.

He has to open it back up asap and get the governor's on board. Let everyone wear masks and gloves, but open this up

Exposing the lies little by little to as wide a public as possible will work faster, and with less confusion.

And get those fucking tape lines off the floors of stores.

I run a tiny business. It has allowed me to live without being a burden on anyone. It is seasonal and if this shut down doesn’t end I will loose an entire years income. I would need a loan to pay my bills until I can get on my feet again. That loan could take me years to repay.

Those with protected salaries and positions are just so damn fine with this lockdown going on indefinitely. It is a luxury pandemic.

I hope this is over soon for you and the millions like you.

  • Make masks widely available and mandatory
  • Make HCQ widely available
  • Keep social distancing
  • Stop the lockdown

I hope Trump grabs the big banks by the ankles and shakes them over a window. The banks are f'ing up the SBA loans, and business owners are freaking out. The worse the economy gets, the more people will want complete socialism. Banks need to step up or they will be screwed too.

2
Logan051361 2 points ago +2 / -0

Agreed, the banks putting tons of stipulations on this does not elpp disperse the funds. I can't imagine what they willo on the 10th.

2
MaxineWaters4Prez 2 points ago +2 / -0

People who were slowly clawing themselves out of debt just got buried deeper with loan deferment and having no income for a month or two.

The banks get bailouts if they lose money, we just get extensions on our existing credit lines.

All these liberal assholes want is for us to totally depend on the government. Need to get country back to work and open for business...life is about trade offs. Ppl are going to get sick but that is the trade off for ppl getting back to work and feeding their families and not letting this get so bad where the economy never comes back.

If only more CEOs were non-Globalists and actually cared about America... but then we wouldn't have these 3M issues, would we?

Mike Lindell on the taskforce, he and his company are nimble. Need more like him. would make a good voice for small business.

4
MW23232 4 points ago +4 / -0

Excellent. From other sites that is what the majority of citizens want to do. Yeah, the Left would ramp up the facts and figures and pressure, & blame every death in the country on coronavirus (as I hear they were possibly told to do in some places regardless, IDK) but I doubt we would see millions die, or people die at a much higher rate than projected before this even began, i.e., that would have regardless. 100,000 die in this country, YEARLY, from flu and pneumonia every year regardless. 36 -50 million catch the flu yearly (not even counting pneumonia!!) and most do not end up in the hospital, obviously. Do some research.

America needed to isolate itself from other nations, specifically the leeches, but couldn't due to the reeeeeeeeeeeeeetards and media. Wuhan flu gave a perfect cover.(Fuck the media)

Geotus is a known germophobe, of course he is taking this virus and his advising professionals(doctors) advice seriously. Now most Americans are and will be germ aware in the future (less sickness spread = healthier workforce = more production and a stronger American workforce/population).

We needed to bring manufacturing back to our shores, China being a pain in the ass with life saving P.P.Es and medicines is the best example to get the public on board to bring jobs here(national security).

The economy may be down but it is not out. America will survive this and we will adapt and overcome. We will come out of this stronger and far more aware of our nations weak spots and we will reinforce those kinks in our countries armor. America is and always was a fighter, we personify that now more then ever with our fighter in chief at the helm.

As for the tweet, yes this 2nd task force is a necessity, President Trump needs as much top experts advice so that he can make educated decisions. He is the only person in our government that I trust.

We're not opening up until June aren't we?

9
Cyer6 9 points ago +9 / -0

I think after Fauci said we get back to normal when there's 0 cases was when Trump was done with him. He hasn't been at the briefings for a few days now. The media keeps asking about him. Trump knows we have to change direction quickly. Plus seeing what's going on in CA where there's only been 200+ deaths out of 40 million people is making everyone take another look at this.

5
MaxineWaters4Prez 5 points ago +5 / -0

There will never be zero. Fuck, thanks to the retard antivaxers we now have a resurgence in shit we eradicated decades ago.

My guess will be this month

SameCookiePseudonym 5 points ago +5 / -0

The problem is that by "flattening the curve," we are -- ironically -- making the recovery even longer. It's unavoidable that everyone will get the virus eventually (barring a vaccine). If we flatten the curve, it just takes a longer time to happen.

1
MaxineWaters4Prez 1 point ago +1 / -0

We're smushing the curve into a nice wide hill.

Rip the bandaid.

1
NocturnalPatrol 1 point ago +3 / -2

I don't think we'll be open by June of next year, at the rate things are going. The medical experts who have been given the authoritative voice are saying shut it all down, and keep it shut down until it magically goes away. Unless something changes, or there's a new development, we're in this for the long haul.

5
BitcoinTrump 5 points ago +5 / -0

You gotta keep in mind that medical experts are paid to be medical experts. Their main priority is to be cautious and save lives. You have to take their input and form a broader decision (based on their data) with regards to the economy and people as a whole. That being said, I'm not sure when it will be over either but I don't exactly trust the projections...

3
fthecoup 3 points ago +4 / -1

Actually, a task force would provide CYA cover for President Trump because NO MATTER WHAT HE SAYS OR DOES, the Deep State/Democrats/CNNBC shall be howling PEACH MINTS! PEACH MINTS!

When we get rolling again, Trump can key these companies up to help us succeed.

Opening up the economy is more important than finding a cure. Assign a task force now, I'd love to watch those press briefings.

Proving what a class act he is. Dana went berserk when he first announced, flipping out on Eric Bolling on The Five even though she had previously liked him, had asked for an endorsement of her book, and had actually had lunch with him.

Her loyalty to the Bushes infected her with level 1 TDS. PDJT actually called her out at a fundraiser during the campaign. After his election, she has been returning to normal and is now free of the TDS pathogen.

2
Berticus 2 points ago +2 / -0

Agree, but should not be bipartisan. They openly rallied for the destruction of the economy via this virus.

2

2
Averon 2 points ago +2 / -0

My concern is that there are a lot of people that may be on a bipartisan task force that would want to reopen the economy by implementing a way to track everyone with everywhere they go and all kinds of other authoritarian crap. That is the wrong way to go about it and a lot of people would not go along with that.

I think the best thing to do is just reopen the economy and let people go about their daily lives, but make sure the medications for treating the virus are where they need to be and in plentiful supply and to actually prescribe it to people that are not hospitalized or just make it as easy to buy as Tylenol for people to take if they start getting symptoms.

Maybe give some advice about good nutrition, washing hands, starting home when sick etc. But just get the government out of people's way in general. Also get the FDA out of the way.

2
Ghostphaez 2 points ago +3 / -1

Fuck the experts anyway!! Put us back to work and keep the old and obese at home.

2
PocketPosse 2 points ago +2 / -0

I like this idea. I hope they can put out enough economic doom models to cancel out Fauci's overcaution. Life is not free, priceless, or guaranteed. It would be nice, but its just not. I know a politician cant dare say 1 - 80% completed life = x jobs. But right now we are at a 1 : 1000 ratio. Im not running for office ever, so Im going to say thats too high.

1
Barabbas 1 point ago +1 / -0
