Trump needs to take charge and do so now.

These doctors need to stay in their lane. All this mathematical modeling shit is out of their area of expertise.

The bureaucrats have no idea what they're doing and are highly incompetent at everything.

Fucking ridiculous to destroy a multi-trillion dollar economy because 54,000 people died.

What is the plan here? Just let the economy die because some doctor doesn't know how to analyze statistical models properly?

Or some statistics expert decided that well actually if you change that variable by a few factors and alter this other coefficient right here... then that means....

And these are the people who have the keys to the American economy??

You’re just flat out wrong. Do you have grand parents? Parents? Even young people are dying. This seems like a troll. Also, this isn’t a depression, the economy will get back up to speed in no time. You are an idiot.

if theres an economy to get back by then. What people don't seem to understand is, the longer this goes on without any kind of certainty, the more the economy will continue to crash. period. if it crashes completely, there's nothing to "get back up to speed".

You can't just "recover" from the damage done already. It will take years now. It's not like in June (if anyone believes that) when this lockdown bullshit is over, someone just flips a switch and the Dow skyrockets to 30k, businesses open back up and it's gonna be a party in the USA. It simply is not going to happen like that at all!
If we don't turn the economy back on, NOW, it won't matter when people finally admit it's ok to. This isn't a hit at Trump, it's a hit at governors who are holding their states hostage because of curves on a graph and misreported numbers of cases and deaths making everyone freeze with fear that they go outside without a mask on, someone exhales in their direction and they're a week away from being in a hospital hooked up to a ventilator with a chance of losing their lives. It's the fear that's destroying everything. We aren't shills for pointing all this out.

We are stuck until these Covid forecasts are busted.

At the moment, mass hysteria about Covid is greater than the anger about economic loss.

Let me tell you something they are not talking about publicly though, and that's the financial system. Back in the 2008 collapse we were days away from money market accounts going illiquid. In other words, the most riskless asset was at risk of becoming worthless. If that were to occur, you would have a bankrun overnight.

A bankrun means the financial system has completely failed. Nobody can get money out of ATM's, transactions can't take place, and when they finally bring it back online money is so devalued it costs 100 bucks to buy toilet paper.

Right, the worst part of all of this is there is still no timeline at all. No idea when anyone can reopen their businesses. There's no timeline for when anyone that still has a job can get back to work. There's no timeline for when we can even take a damn walk in the park. The date just keeps moving back farther and farther.

It almost made sense to show things down for a couple of weeks. If this thing has a 14 day incubation period, then slowing down the number of people out and about would cut this thing off at the knees.

But now we're talking about a minimum month and a half. What are we even trying to do now? Stop all diseases from spreading? You can't. That is absolutely impossible.

Are we waiting for a vaccine? That's just stupid. Vaccines aren't 100%. The flu goes around like wildfire every year to people who got the vaccine anyway (literally, I knew a guy who got the vaccine this year and managed to get both strains of the flu). All that gives is weak peace of mind at best.

Are we waiting for better data on what this thing does? So far it's pretty clear, you either are in the vast majority that gets it and it either does nothing to you/hits you like a bad cold, or it knocks you on your ass and you need hospitalization and the MAGA cure. What's more to learn at this point?

Are we waiting for hospitals to empty out to avoid a run? Cause from the sound of things aside from NYC, all of the hospitals in the country are dead quiet. And even in NYC the hospital boats are empty (don't even get me started on why they haven't bothered to triage patients over to those).

So what the hell is it?

You don’t own a business, I’m guessing.

I’m a Realtor; so yes, yes I do.

Nope. Even if 2 million people died in the US, the measures being taken now would not be acceptable.

Also, you do realize there is 350 MILLION people in the US; not 350 billion, right?

Yes, of course I realize that. I assumed OP just goofed. But (imo) what I said still applies easily at million instead of billion.

They’re projecting 250,000 deaths WITH stay in place. This guy where I live in Colorado had the same attitude you did and went four wheeling and came home and almost died in the hospital.. you’re being ridiculous.
