So leave the smartphone home and carry your backup flip phone instead. You don't have a backup flip phone? Why not? Mine only costs $80 a year and it gives me a legitimate number to sign up for stuff with. That way if they need to send a confirmation text I get the confirmation number without giving them the ability to spam my primary number.
