The term moderate has no real meaning. Societal views shift for better or worse, and moderates are people who want to play it safe by constantly recalibrating their views in relation to every strong-minded person around them, so they can stay in the middle.

One of the TV shows I was involved in making had an episode that would be really easy, and I had to do all that as well as direct it. It aired the short film Silent Scream. This is what Reagan had commissioned to determine if abortion was murder or not. He didn't like the results, so he swept it under the rug. Dan Quayle had gone around to schools talking about it, which I only found out about a few years after I made this TV show.
So after I got everything set and the film rolling and could kick back in the control room for a bit I got to watch the movie I was airing. Really terrible video quality. The narration wasn't very good, either. But I could clearly see a baby fighting for it's life, and being viciously torn apart and murdered. It was really disturbing and I couldn't watch for very long. Then I had to go back to work and wrap up the show. It didn't change anything about my life at the time.
I'm not sure how many more years later it was that my Sister was talking to me about I don't know how many abortions she had, maybe 3; how every year on the anniversary of it she's super bummed like the opposite of celebrating a birthday.
So that's why I'm against using abortion as birth control, and glad that has been reduced a lot. Making it illegal was never on the table. Silly that people talked about it like it was. Especially since SCOTUS laid out in Roe v Wade how it could be done: define "personhood." Nobody's made a move to do so, so all the protests are just hype.

This is what the entire shitshow regarding Planned Parenthood is about. Money is fungible, meaning a dollar is a dollar is a dollar. Democrats want to keep funneling money to Planned Parenthood and say "This money isn't for abortions", but every dollar they aren't spending in one department is a dollar they can spend in another.
On a state level, it varies, but on a federal level, no, tax money is not supposed to go towards abortions. That's what the Hyde Amendment is (I think, I'm shooting off the top of my head here).

Conservatives had been trying to defund PP and DJT put them in a spot where they could either continue receiving federal funding and stop abortions altogether or lose federal funding for contraceptive services and continue doing abortions. PP chose to forego their federal funding for contraception and went with the highly profitable abortions. Which we do have evidence they were "selling baby parts."
I thought this was a brilliant move by DJT and I didn't even tell any libruls I know about it. Sad to say I haven't followed that development since and it seems somehow they got out of it.
