It's called censorship

Taiwan, Singapore, Macau, Hong Kong have handled it well from day 1. Probably because of an inherent mistrust of the CCP.

Low population densities and not a lot of cases. If it ramps up in their cities, they will shut it down too.

Funny how he meant this as criticism and I interpreted it as praise

5
Razeontherock 5 points ago +5 / -0

Me too! My criticism (not knowing who Robert Reich is or how his comment could possibly be criticizing R Governors) is that my Sate is not on a stay at home order. Here in WI it is "safer at home." Deliberately different from the other "stay at home" orders, which I had no idea were so prevalent across the Country. (If he's right, which I now have to assume he's wrong about that, too)

Robert Reich was the secretary of labor during Bill Clinton's presidency

1
Razeontherock 1 point ago +1 / -0

So a failed cabinet member of a failed administration, connected with the most heinous power couple in existence.

He SHOULD be here lauding the few R Governors who are doing the right thing! I'd like to shake his hand. (Given that I'd break every bone in his hand)

They're all TALLER than you too, you f*cking gnome.

What part of "rural" and "no population density approaching Manhattan" do you not comprehend?

4

Now when I read the title and tweet, I assume the statement is made that these Governors are doing a GOOD thing. Do you know Robert Reich, and that he was actually stupid enough to think these Governors are doing something wrong?

Nebraska here.

Can't plant if I'm stuck inside. You think seeds just show up by themselves? Any idea how equipment is scheduled? Fertilizers? Herbicides?

Sometimes there isn't an app for that.

Stay at home orders do not impact "essential businesses," which includes the entire food chain. Somebody from Iowa was thinking that it would mean if a tractor broke down he wouldn't be able to get welding supplies to fix it. Stuff like that is open too.

Although all this Statewide stuff is bogus. There is NO legal basis or precedent to shut down even one whole community. Sick people can be quarantined, legally. Even put in jail. Not healthy people. Even super densely populated states like NY and NJ have lots of area that is rural, and not affected by this nearly as much. Totally stupid to treat the whole State the same way. The only person I've seen post that their State does it by County is Utah. We could do this by County, or even smaller. That would make a lot more sense.

But nobody's even trying to stop a farmer from planting.

4
DisgustedByMisleadia 4 points ago +4 / -0

Farming isn't considered essential in Nebraska?

Thanks. It was a bit of a rhetorical question, as I knew it was considered essential in my state.

I have to wonder why the OP thought readers wouldn't know that.

These states have not been "enriched" as much by the gift the globalists send called mass legal immigration from the Third World.

No direct flights from China, communist China with their bioweapon, to South Dakota? Just a guess.

Wyoming doesn't have a Chinatown where they slaughter animals in the street and then hang them up on a hook in the front window of the shop? Just another guess.

All but one is a safer area with no coast? So not on the front line of the invasion, and their diseases.

These are not "Republican States" as they more are states that have not been infected with globalism, and the millions of Third Worlders who vote for the UN candidate, and thus the real citizens can have votes that actually count and then their votes make the state Republican.

If you don't have the Third World in your neighborhood, you can't get all their Third World diseases they bring in.

Alabama's stay at home order started today. But according to the rules. Nothing changes. Outdoor activities are still permitted. Shopping. And religious services as well. Ivy did that shit it seems just to shut up the dumbasses demanding a stay at home order. Everything we can't do now. (Theaters restaurants etc) we already couldn't do. Nothing changed. Much like DUI checkpoints its just "feel good" bullshit.

I’m going to one of those states if I’m sick. My stare Governor is limiting the use hydroxychloriquine..

4
Razeontherock 4 points ago +5 / -1

ALL the D governors are! Even though they haven't announced it as official policy. You can tell by looking at the number of recovered people in the State.

This is mass murder. And some R Governors are guilty of going batshit insane, too. For example, FL and GA both have 0 people that have recovered. WI has 2. That just doesn't happen if you're giving people Trump pills. They're repeating Cuomo's mistake, denying medicine to sick people unless they're already in such bad shape that they've been admitted to the hospital. At that point the outcome is far worse.

It's also the way to drag this crisis on as long as possible.

3
Tardigrade 3 points ago +3 / -0

They just dont count the recovered cases.

3
Razeontherock 3 points ago +3 / -0

They absolutely do count people who recovered and here's how worldometers, info reports it:

total recovered in the US:14,825

They also give the number of people recovered in the whole world. Plus lots of other totals. They don't calculate how many people recovered per US State for us, but it's pretty easy to figure out from the info they do show:

total cases per State

minus

number that died

minus

total active cases.

That will leave you with the number of people who recovered.

They're not skipping anybody in these totals. Quite the opposite, we're learning that at least in the US these numbers are falsely being inflated by including people that died from all sorts of things other than Wuflu.

1
Tardigrade 1 point ago +1 / -0

Bad wording, I meant that theyre way behind in counting recovered cases (or at least seemed to be in the sources I was using, given how low they were) not that they were purposely excluded.

1
Razeontherock 1 point ago +1 / -0

If we have 14,825 people who have recovered that's not in line with giving infected people medicine now that 40 million doses of HCQ have been donated to the US and we have plenty for everybody who needs it and can bring this crisis to a screeching halt.

The problem is the same website (worldometers.info) doesn't support it's own number and all info they do give refutes it. I don't believe we have nearly that many people who have recovered. That's an average of almost 300 people per State. I don't find even one State that has numbers to support anywhere near that many recoveries. And on Trump pills most people are virus-free in 6 days, as you've probably seen from many sources now.

The fact we know US is lying about how many die from Wuflu doesn't make this any better. Both deaths and people recovered are over-stated. Can we trust the number of cases reported? If they're anywhere near accurate, these are NOT people who were already infected before 3/16. Most of those would've had test results back by 3/25. Since 3/25 our total cases reported have more than quadrupled, with massively more new cases each day. Those are people that got infected since we all got locked down. Which means these measures are at least largely ineffective.

UPDATE: worldometers.info now shows our people recovered has increased to 17,245, an average of 344 per State. Does anybody have info that at least that many have recovered in your State?

That site shows 2 recovered in my State, and also in a State due west. 0 in FL and GA. Sum Ting Wong!

Take it from a Nebraskan it's one of the very few things Pete Ricketts has done right.

Guy's a Rhino from waaay back, needs to go. He's in bed with Chicago money his family owns the Cubs.

Ricketts of you read this:

You defended the Death Penalty and you did right then. You haven't shut the state down for quarantine, good on you. You need to relax about medical and recreational marijuana. Like... really...get with the times.

Whether for better or worse Missouri governor Parsons issued a full statewide order this week..still, the great minds of the Missouri and stlouis subreddits are displeased with him for undoubtedly killing millions..or whatever

2
Razeontherock 2 points ago +2 / -0

Question for you, Mr show-me State pede:

Worldometers.info shows your State as having only 2 people recovered, exactly like WI. Your State is directly above mine on their list, sorted by total number of cases. Actually it doesn't have a column to show how many recovered, they leave that for us to calculate but it's simple enough:

2291 total cases, 36 total dead, active cases of people still alive is only two less than that at 2353.

Are they wrong? Have more than 2 people recovered from Wuflu in Missouri?

1
PraiseBeToScience 1 point ago +1 / -0

Counting 'recovered' is tricky, there's no real way to do it.

I think most states are doing "Date of infection +21". If you haven't died by then, you're recovered.

This means the death count will lead the recovered count considerably, since if your immune system rolled a 1 and you end up hospitalized, that's going to happen like 10 days in.

2
Razeontherock 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's way off. If you're admitted to the hospital, the only reason is you either need a ventilator or are in danger of it. Otherwise they turn you away. And in States where they also deny you medicine that's just criminal, seeing as we have plenty.

On a ventilator it might take a month to die. That's why the expected shortage. They're not going to count you as recovered while you're occupying an ICU bed, a ventilator, and the real shortage nobody's talking about which is the pulmonary therapist that's struggling right along with you as you fight for every breath, which may well be your last.

Recovered is defined as tested virus-free. The only thing tricky about that is when do they decide to take that test? We have more than we need now, that's not even a factor anymore. But of course the same is true of HCQ pills and they deny that to people who need them. Everybody on Trump pills could be tested 7-8 days after starting the medicine, unless they still feel sick. The number of people recovered would skyrocket.

Right now Worldometers.info reports US with 8,000+ deaths and over 14,000 recovered. Yet I can't find a single State that comes anywhere near that average of almost 300 recovered per State. All the authorities are lying to us

Stay at home orders are great. No traffic on the roads. Very convenient.

2
Troll 2 points ago +2 / -0

Nebraska has some of the worst elected republicans in the country (Sasse, Ricketts). The real reason is because of the lower population and the fact that nobody here leaves the house anyways -- living here is one big stay-at-home order.
