Why would they be overwhelmed? They have cancelled all services that are non urgent. All of the staff that worked in non urgent departments have nothing to do. It would take huge numbers of Covid patients to replace all of those patients and require the services of all the staff.

Some larger cities are trying to get all covid patients to go to one hospital rather than spreading out to multiple hospitals. In these cases, the covid hospital may get overwhelmed while others are empty since they have shut down non urgent services.

Besides that, most of the positive patients arent even hospitalized. Only the worst ones are admitted and those numbers arent nearly enough to overwhelm the entire medical system.

I have been in contact with some of my former collegues and they have confirmed that they are seeing a lot of covid patients but they are able to handle the volume.
I understand those who question the severity of this illness but to believe its a hoax means you believe Trump is a liar. I personally do not think hes lying to us.
