Elective surgeries include most cancer treatment surgeries, non-emergent heart surgeries, back and joint surgeries for people in terrible pain, almost all arthroscopies and colonoscopies, and essentially every surgery where people are not rushed in as an emergency.

Your equating it to boob jobs or cosmetics only is extremely ignorant. There will be people whose cancer was treatable surgically in March but which will have grown by June to not be treatable.
