We have plenty of HCQ and our medical industry is already starting to pump out new doses as we negotiate purchases from other countries like india which has a huge supply. Cheap oil won't last and he is getting it whilst the getting is good. I think it only amounts to a hundred billion or so in funds to top off the strategic reserve so pocket change really. The D's are trying to block it to be as obstructive as they can be not that they care about the money or the oil. They really would cut their own throats if they thought it would remove Trump from power. Insanity rules them now.

So buying HCQ doesn't even factor into this monetarily. We'd need almost 5 billion pills to give everyone a supply for preventative use. So I wouldn't say we have "plenty," but right now treating everyone that needs it over the next 2 weeks should be about 8 million. We could stop this crisis dead in it's tracks! Not "0 new cases" like Dr Doom big farma Fauci flaps his jaws about, but turn scary plague of death into 6 day bad flu at worst with nobody dying and almost nobody on a respirator.

Has our medical industry actually shipped any HCQ yet? I heard they expected to ship almost half a billion before May, but do you know that any has shipped already?

Yeah the price of the medicine is moot and not even a blip on the yearly budget. As to how many doses you need I think the strategy is to reserve them for high risk groups such as the old and infirm since the virus has mild to no effect on the young and healthy. Also anyone between their twenties and sixties are fine as long as they are healthy and so far that group only suffers the typical flu reactions some of them bad but nothing requiring hospitalization. If you hear the term herd immunity this is what they are referring to. Allow the virus to spread normally through the healthy population to get natural immunity so no need for future vaccines. Then protect and isolate the vulnerable groups and reserve the vaccines for them. Hopefully this tactic wins out as it pretty much stops the virus in its tracks and means no secondary blooms later on in the general population.

The "strategy" of reserving medicine for only those in such bad shape that they've been hospitalized already is called mass murder! There is NO need to ration the medicine. Doing so will accomplish the following things:

drag this crisis out as long as possible

insure that soon we DON'T have enough HCQ because the virus will continue to spread quicker than we can produce more medicine

and make people needlessly suffer and die a miserable death.

The age where you're more likely to recover on your own with no treatment is 59 and younger. Recently NY sent a 60 year old infected woman home with no medicine except an inhaler for asthma. That does NOTHING for this disease. She specifically asked for HCQ and z pack (not knowing enough to also ask for zinc) and was denied. Don't even pretend this is sane.

On Trump pills most people are virus-free free in 6 days. It's really hard to spread the virus once you don't have it any mores; you're also immune.

People in their 20s and 30s with NO underlying health issues are dying. Others are staying miserable for a month. How do you keep from spreading it like that?
