Help. I don't get it. I don't want to simply laugh off and snub a "conspiracy theory" and prefer to be as open minded as possible. I keep hearing murmurs of this 5g shit being responsible. Is there any truth at all to any of this? interested to hear what you guys think

No, there is no truth to it. I've yet to see this coming from a single person who was capable of even explaining what 5G actually IS, much less a mechanism for how electromagnetic waves could infect someone with a virus.
One of the downsides of the internet is that it's very easy for a very small number of poorly informed individuals to appear larger and more informed than they really are.
If I allow myself to indulge in a bit of conspiratorial thinking, it's much more likely that wild, baseless accusations like this are spread to discredit legitimate concerns and debate concerning the safety of high wattage radio transmitters.
Similar to the way nutjobs from the small but vocal "anti-vaxxer" movement can be used to discredit individuals voicing legitimate concerns or doubts about the efficacy and risk/benefits ratio of any specific newly developed vaccine which does not yet have decades of time in use and hundreds of millions of safely vaccinated individuals to back up its claims.
Sometimes a disinformation campaign isn't really intended to get people to believe inaccurate information. Sometimes the goal is to put out so much disinformation, that people begin to feel like they can't trust ANY information. This leads to communication breakdown, distrust, and factioning within the targeted audience.

Play it at 1.5x speed. Terrifying and black pilled.
It is bullshit, BUT, it is commingled with the fact that Huawei sells hardware chock full of Chinese government spyware, back doors and monitoring.
I'm 30% convinced that the "5G causes (insert crazy theory here)" stories are being pushed to distract from the fairly straight forward fact that Huawei 5G equipment should never be allowed into any western country.
Get enough fringe sounding complaints about 5G and normies will tune out the real objection that Huawei hardware is invasive bullshit.
(Other companies make 5G stuff, but like so many other Chinese manufactured items, Huawei is selling their equipment at prices that are tantamount to dumping.
Strange times in a strange world. Stay open-minded Pedes, anything is possible.
If I knew everything maybe I could say "No, there is no truth to it." Til then though...
I doubt it. I haven't seen one shred of evidence by people that are trying to push that conspiracy theory here.
