When our country first came together independently from England, we quickly discovered that the Articles of Confederation weren't working. As you know, we wrote and ratified the Constitution, and the rest is history.

What you probably don't remember from your US history class is that the country soon split into two parties: Alexander Hamilton's Federalist Party, and Thomas Jefferson's Democratic-Republican Party. The Federalists were roughly aligned with Great Britain and an "unlimited powers" interpretation of the constitution, while the Jeffersonian Republicans were aligned with France (as it was the time of the French Revolution) and a "limited powers" interpretation of the constitution.

Things came to loggerheads as the republicans started winning across the country. The writing was on the wall for the federalists: They were going to lose power. Exasperated, they pulled out all the stops and wrote the Alien and Sedition Act. This act limited free speech and other things, and drove the country into a frenzy of anti-federalist sentiment. Soon, the Jeffersonians took control of the country, reversed the act, and replaced the judges. It wasn't so long after that that the Federalist Party all but disappeared, and we had the Era of Good Feelings.

The UNLAWFUL, UNJUSTIFIABLE actions of state governors to SHUT DOWN the states in the face of what is turning out to be a mostly harmless flu, the way they are behaving, disrespecting a wildly popular president, stealing from each other, turning over their decisions to the likes of Bill Gates and China, this is something we will not forget. I think this is comparable with the Alien and Sedition Act. At NO TIME in our history has anyone tried such a monstrous power grab, except perhaps the socialist-fascist FDR and the Alien and Sedition Act.

Please, do NOT let them get away with this. With your help, we can make the Democratic Party a distant memory for our grandchildren, a footnote that they'll read about in their history books.

We can usher in a brand new Era of Good Feelings, if we abolish the Democratic Party once and for all by simply making them irrelevant!

thing is, once things do open up again, it's gotten so bad people are going to be paranoid, go wearing masks everywhere and the moment they hear a sneeze or cough itll be like having a Nam flashback. theyll spray disinfectant all over, go running the opposite direction or freak put and want that person that coughed or sneezed removed or isolated because they're so scared over the stigma of this thing and how overhyped it is. people will see you coming down the street and from 20 yards away rin to the opposite side. it's all a factor of how badly they're freaking everyone out. it's not going to go away overnight. itll take quite a while for everyone to be completely comfortable around each other again and not be bugging out the moment they hear a sneeze

That too will pass.

Eventually we'll find a healthy balance of caution.

We really shouldn't be showing up at work sick, and we really shouldn't be coughing or sneezing in public.

It sucks that we had to remind ourselves of this through this episode, but at least people know why we don't do those things.
