I recommend Smith&Wesson Shield 2.0 good single stack handgun that holds 8 and can be had for under $350 with good aftermarket support

If u want something a little bigger that holds a lil more I'd go to Glock 19, reliable and considered by some to be the premier compact handgun. Also has the most aftermarket support.
