The real reason they still exist is to add another "trusted news source" to the "trusted media" pile. This way when they unleash a narrative, it has the appearance of coming from multiple sources, and convinces low info people and the asleep sheep that "well I saw this story at Time and on CNN and in the USA Today and Newsweek, so it must be true!!"
