In regards to the "protect others from you" point, I had that conversation through my wife when she was on the phone with her mother. Her mother had asked if I was wearing a mask when shopping (or something along that line, I just caught my wife's response of "no he's not wearing a mask when he's out"), to which her mother responded with something to the effect of why not, since my wife started to say "because he doesn't want to", but I grokked what was going on and quickly interjected with a loud " BECAUSE THE MASK WON'T STOP ME FROM BEING INFECTED, IT WOULD ONLY STOP ME FROM INFECTING OTHERS"
