Hi all,

I made some videos regarding ventilators and ventilation so that you might be better informed regarding the current situation. This is meant to be a primer for non-medically trained individuals who want to understand more about these machines and how doctors approach ventilators and their management and specific concerns of COVID-19 management. Get informed!

Ventilators shouldn't be used, you're treating the wrong problem.

Will watch. Are patients put on these having sigh breaths incorporated into the mode used? Couple of recent studies indicate this is beneficial.

I've not heard of any special role of recruitment breaths in COVID management. Recruitment breaths are otherwise commonly used if you think the patient might be desaturating from atelectasis or if you're trying to increase the PEEP.

Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any other questions
