There is research suggesting that azithromycin also disables certain key steps in the kind of allergic reaction (aka, the "cytokine storm") that this virus, and others, initiate upon infection.

While I don't know the difference, Dr Zelenko says it's incorrect to refer to z pack; something about the dosage. He prescribes .5 g 1x a day for 5 days.
