Good day brother and sister Pedes,
Writing to convey my experience with both this illness and my attempts to get tested.
What it's like: As of writing, I'm not feeling 100% back to normal but maybe about 85%. Symptoms began about 4-5 days ago with congestion and then soon after alternating chills and bouts of perspiration. I was sweating profusely as I slept and have kept hydrated despite. Didn't even think it was anything until about 3 days ago, took my temp and was running about 2 degrees hot despite fever reducing drugs I was taking for something else. Outside the disgusting inconvenience of sweating like that, the body ache was by far the worst part... Constant and deeply miserable. I'm less than 40, not fat as shit, don't have any underlying conditions. I've not been short of breath in traditional sense but during some attempted exercise, I've felt out of shape and had to dial it back but initially just chalked it up to being a sedentary fuck working from home.
Testing: Initially was hard to find a test location to accept me. Nobody would test me. I was not bad enough. Neither the state, nor my doctor's office will test me. I understand why I suppose: tests are numbered and finite but not testing and counting folks such as myself who likely have had, and beat it with milder symptoms and most importantly, no death makes the overall impression of the KungFlu more dire than perhaps it is in reality. UPDATE: Was able to get test done and should have result in 2-5 days.
Working from home in meantime and not being stupid.
Hang tough, bro.
Thank you! I think I'm past the worst of it honestly.
I just took the test this morning. Woke up in a pool of sweat, some body aches, sore throat. I'm on anti-rejection meds for a transplant. Called my primary care Doctor, and he set up the test, but it's one of the 24 to 48 hours tests. I'll let you know. On the plus side, there's a shitton of pollen out here right now, and I work primarily outside, so it could be that. Reckon we'll see.
Shit man, anti-rejection drugs imply big deal issues. Err on side of caution and good luck.
