You make a good point, but the virus in that chart shows we've been moving away from the norm starting about 10 weeks ago. We've only been on lockdown for about 2 weeks. I don't think many people were staying home back in January when the divergence took place.
But then again, since the Chinese were locked down, maybe less of them were coming here and giving us diseases.
This cold/flu season 19/20 has been suspiciously calm. Even back in October, it was slow and people were remarking on it in the store I work. I don't know why, but these cycles happen from time to time. 2018 saw 100,000 deaths in the U.S., this year, until covid kicked the door in, we were just down.
Not here. We've had a terrible flu season. My husband and I got something in November that held on for weeks. Our kids were sick for all of December break, then our littlest had the flu something terrible in early January. We all were fine for February, but got a stomach flu in March. And everyone we knew had RSV, flu or bronchitis.
Wouldn't the quarantine also work on lowering the amount of exposure to other diseases/viruses? There should be a decrease across the board.
