The flu graph only goes to 65+ while the China Flu graph goes to 85+. Neither graph has information about when this data was collected. Neither graph explains if .83% of all Americans 65+ died from the flu in (insert whatever dates they used for this info) or if .83% of all Americans known to have the flu in (insert whatever dates they used for this info) died. You see where I'm going here?

It seems to me the age ranges should match up a bit better.

Exactly. Just one of the many problems with this graph. It's designed to make people think that old people are dying at a rate that is 10x greater than the flu.
