Prior service myself. I disagree. I am glad he was supported by the sailors, but he could have and probably did endanger his crew far more than it appeared. Letting the public know, and the enemy, that his crew was compromised is great intelligence. A bad actor could have hindered his movement, caused more sickness on board and taken a strategic vehicle off the operating grid. His decision with all the other outlets available to him was, in my opinion, a terrible decision.
Both are gone, and that’s the best outcome as I see it. Crozier screwed up, Modly did the right thing in removing him from command, then totally screwed up in his address to the crew. Screwed up so badly that his leaving was the only possible answer.
