Gonna disagree. You are saying this from the safety of your home, where you have the ability to make sure your family is safe and protected.
Having 20 years in the military, I can identify with hundreds of people packed like sardines in an infected ship away from their families.
The morale and stress on the crew was likely palpable. None of them signed up to get infected, but they were all there on duty. The captain should have been fired for the leak, but the ship, in peacetime, should do everything possible to protect crew.
Most of them have families back home dealing with this -- regular communication is a problem once the ship is out of cell phone range. Sure, there is email, and they hear all their kids are home with their wives, all alone. Are people looking out for them? Maybe. Are their wives, surrounded by kids 24-7 going insane, Definitely. The corona Virus on the ship is the least of their problems. You have completely ignored one of the largest sacrifices our military members make: Separation from Family, and missing important life happenings. They cannot support their spouses, most of whom are stationed away from immediate family at a naval port somewhere.
Thing is, SECNAV apparently WAS trying to get the crew off. Was in the process of doing it. Had the Governor of Guam commandeering hotel rooms to put them in. Then Crozier threw them all under the bus because they weren't going fast enough to suit him.

Wow.
Just wow.
