Most rational people who called themselves Liberals before around 2000 or so have realized that the Left has moved so far that we have more in common with Conservatives.
I have voted Democrat in the past. I voted for Obama the FIRST time, which will be the last time I vote for a Democrat until / unless the Democratic party de-tards itself.
I strongly suspect that if we can smash the Democrats in the next election, the Democrats will fall apart into a Socialist Party and a Centrist Democrat party.
Centrist Dems tend to hold slightly right of center fiscal values paired with some more progressive social values. I used to be one until I witnessed the clusterfuck orgy of leg humping by the media to get Obama elected. That was eye opening to me. It shook my trust of mainstream media to the core, opened my eyes to the truth that today's modern Left is cancer and well, here I am. I was never a Chinese sellout, but in hindsight (cough Bill Clinton cough ), there were a lot of politicians I voted for that were. And some that I didn't vote for that also were (cough Dubb'ya cough )

Centrist Dems are Blue Dog Democrats. They do exist. They just don't have a Democrat party any more.
