This is a bullshit way of counting these deaths. So at best, half are virus caused(probably less), and we are shutting down the the country. We need real data to drive these decisions.

Are we reimbursing for COVID expenses?? Asking for a friend.,,

29
mykillk 29 points ago +29 / -0

Yes. 100%. Hospitals are monetarily incentivized to classify as many cases as possible as COVID-19.

Not just Covid, my mother in law passed on Feb 2 2020. She died in her sleep. The hospital and the coroner decided to put COPD on the death certificate because she happened to smoke. She had no symptoms of it at all and was never even close to being diagnosed used with it. Their reasoning was “we had to put something beside natural causes”. So they decided to make shit up and it pretty much ruined any possibility of getting the life insurance to help pay for everything without a bow long legal fight

Using the ridiculous logic they are applying here, if you were battling terminal cancer and caught a cold, and you finally lost your battle with cancer, they would claim that you died from the cold.

This is fucked.

These are the people running our health care.....and forcing 6 trillion dollar decisions on our civilization.

19
thingaboutarsenal 19 points ago +19 / -0

Which means we're probably going to really have 40k dead from this = it's just a flu. Shit was right all along.

14
K-Harbour 14 points ago +14 / -0

Yes, the deaths from other causes, including regular flu, are dropping.

15
Razeontherock 15 points ago +16 / -1

Data can't drive decisions. People do that. Fauci is giving DJT bad advice, and has been throughout.

The problem stated here isn't nearly so bad as all the deaths reported as caused by Wuflu, where Wuflu had nothing to do with it.

2
rplgn 2 points ago +2 / -0

by your logic a single man giving advice is nothing compared to the doctors that perform this misjudgement in closed chambers.

14
daty_dato 14 points ago +14 / -0

It's to keep us assholes in our houses.

Eventually we'll have all the data. We'll be (It's already being done) able to compare "normal" death rates from all causes compared to previous years and see that the real rate is a faction of what they've reported by using this method. It should be considered a fraud on the American People.

Someone needs to start taking screenshots before they revise past data or it disappears

Repeat after me: "Never let a crisis go to waste".... the bigger the numbers, the greater the justification for exercising overreaching powers.

4 to 8 weeks to open back up. Michigan will be toast. I know they really tried to help small business but you cannot borrow your way out. No making up for lost time. Just open us back up.

18
Rob_Belmonte 18 points ago +19 / -1

We'll be toast within 2 or 3 weeks. 4 to 8? Might as well have just launched all the nukes, our economy would probably have had a better chance coming back from that.

12
HughGRection 12 points ago +13 / -1

The really bad part is that people are going to be basket cases when we actually open back up. Couple an economic depression with people afraid to hug their parents...

12
K-Harbour 12 points ago +12 / -0

When this is all over, we need to overhaul the criteria for invoking these measures. We can’t have Bill Gates shutting down the world every cold season.

2
HockeyMom4Trump 2 points ago +2 / -0

I don’t know. People are pretty quick to move on. Today was our first really warm day in MN, every one was out and about. It really seemed pretty much like a normal day.

Think of all the chaos surrounding Kavannaugh and the confirmation hearing. It was everywhere, people were worked up about it. Now, many of those people would not even remember he is on the Supreme Court

22
ProphetOfKek 22 points ago +22 / -0

Open us back up. This is all bullshit. They even have to inflate their numbers and they are nowhere near their bogus models lower expectations.

Shariablue_Sorosbots 19 points ago +20 / -1

It you die in a knife fight over the last roll of toilet paper it will be ruled a Kung Flu death.

JamesSunderland 1 point ago +1 / -0

I would hate to have some good dirt on Hillary and die overnight of multiple Coronas-at-the-back-of-the-head syndrome.

16
mykillk 16 points ago +18 / -2

My prediction two months ago was that in the end this would prove out to be about the same as the seasonal flu in terms of serious complications and deaths.

Looks like my estimate was off... This likely wasn't even as bad as the flu. We shut down the fucking economy over a slightly worse common cold.

-1
rplgn -1 points ago +2 / -3

Pandering between black and white like this will lead the world nowhere. Take this Corona issue seriously and actually make sure that there is zero spread by following the liberal model. Else you eill hear from the fake news that Trump is not taking this issue too seriously.

Hospitals lose all the revenue from cancelled elective procedures, laying off OR nurses and related staff. Then the federal govt announces that uninsured COVID cases will be covered, so guess what? Every case is COVID, which is also why there’s a decrease in deaths due to stroke, heart attack, pneumonia, etc.

6
tigressroars 6 points ago +6 / -0

She needs to give the rationale for that. The press needs to dig into this.

I’m sure they won’t...

Yeah.... at this point I'm skeptical of the death count.

2

Did you hear about the skydiver with COVID-19 that forgot his parachute?

He died from COVID-19.

2
FudgyFudgeBots 2 points ago +2 / -0

With Chinas contaminated test kits, everyone tested would be positive. All dead people would be positive even if they didnt have it so those deaths would be attributed to CV.

More deaths mean more fear. More fear means people buy drugs and vaccines and give up civil rights for safety.

An actual EXCELLENT question? WITH pushback when a clear answer was not given?

NICE!

I actually agree with that approach. It wouldn’t make sense if somebody was killed by a drunk driver on their way to the hospital and happen to have COVID-19, but if someone has a heart attack while They have COVID-19 no one can say that they would not of had a heart attack but for the impact of the virus.

Also, do you think Trump is a dupe? This is his hand-picked expert that he shares his stage with every day.If that’s the approach, obviously Trump has approved it.

Ha. Please sticky this so I can say I told you so.

edit: looks like I'm wrong. They did provide the full quote. I wonder how many people will actually watch the video instead of just taking Walsh's interpretation without any skepticism.

She's talking about it in the context of other nations not recording people who died of heart and kidney failure from covid as a covid death.

She said what she said. The exact transcript is available and we can go through sentence by sentence if you don't believe me. But, that won't happen as long as you continue your behavior. This conversation will end if you are unable to address me in an adult manner.

There are other countries that if you had a preexisting condition, and let's say the virus caused you to go to the ICU and then have a heart or kidney problem, some countries are recording that as a heart issue or a kidney issue, and not as a COVID-19 death.

How do you interpret that preceding sentence? She is saying other countries are undercounting covid deaths.

I will end this conversation if you can not talk to me without screaming profanities at me. Act like the adult that you are.
