Postal employee here and fellow Trump supporter. There are a few things I would like to point out. First, this reporter and the question she asked are typical fake news. The postal service has been steadily losing money since 2008. Second, the Postal Regulatory Commission is responsible for setting postage rates, this is made up of Presidential appointees. http://prc.gov Third, there was a long time before 2008 when the USPS made money hand over fist and was not allowed to turn a profit. All profits went to the treasury, so there wasn't a way for the postal service to 'save' for future downturns. Fourth, Trump did threaten to pull the USPS out of the UPU. This threat gave the Trump and the USPS leverage to negotiate pricing with other countries (i.e. China). On the 11th hour before we were to leave, the UPU conceded, so we never actually left the UPU.

I believe there are a lot of ways to make the USPS great again without needing a public bail out and also without total privatization. And I think Trump is our best shot to make that happen.
