On a meta level, this type of rhetoric is simply used to mask the pain of failure in every area of life by their demographic except for putting a ball through a hoop, and criminality. This fact is glaring, obvious, and cannot be avoided.

It must be a crushing weight to carry around with you all the time, this knowledge that you will never ever measure up.

In that sense, I feel sorry for them.
