Following his recommendations is probably the better play. If Trump fired him now, the media would have a field day, and would probably even convince Fox News to bash Trump.

I know that wouldn't influence us pedes here, but we're probably less than 10% of his base.

It's the same dilemma GEOTUS is in when it comes to prosecuting his political rivals for crimes they've committed.
